Our Philosophy

Wisdom begins with wonder - by Socrates

To cherish the joy of families and the many different ways they come to us.

With Te Whaariki and Kei Tua o te Pae as guidelines, we recognise that each and every child is competent and capable, and we will adapt our pedagogy to support all learning. Theorists of human behaviour, Piaget, Vygotsky and Bronfennrenner, underpin our assessment and evaluation of children's learning.

What's the weather like today?

During our 'Transition to School' programme held everyday after lunch we sing a certain song before we discuss what the weather is like today. Jiya is normally fast asleep and Grace sometimes but today I smiled as I walked past and saw Grace teaching the song to Jiya and using the writing on her book to represent the teachers writing on the witeboard. Our song goes like this - What's the weather like today, like today, like today. What's the weather like today on this 'Tuesday'. It's 'sunny and windy' outside today, outside today, outside today. It's 'sunny and windy' outside today on this 'Tuesday'. Tino pai Grace and Jiya

Bushy Tales

An adventure was had by all today as we strolled through the trees at Motumoana Scout Camp and followed the path to an outside theatre. We sat and waited for our show to begin. We had a very interactive, fun time with Star and Fish from StarFish Magic. Have a look at our photo shory.

Fish and Chip Friday

Friday saw us have a very busy day going to see 'Starfish' perform their production of 'Bushy Tales' and the very same evening was our prearranged fish and chip night. I gather their was a lot of tired children but to all the families who came we had a very enjoyable evening. Mark in your diaries now Friday July 2nd for our Mid-Winter Christmas.

Look who's turned 5!

Hope you enjoyed your special day and have an awesome first day at school on Monday
