Our Philosophy

Wisdom begins with wonder - by Socrates

To cherish the joy of families and the many different ways they come to us.

With Te Whaariki and Kei Tua o te Pae as guidelines, we recognise that each and every child is competent and capable, and we will adapt our pedagogy to support all learning. Theorists of human behaviour, Piaget, Vygotsky and Bronfennrenner, underpin our assessment and evaluation of children's learning.

Museum Trip

In response to the children's interest in volcanoes we arranged a trip to the museum and we were able to go to the 'Weird and Wonderful Discovery Centre' too where the children could have hands-on fun and exploration. Tactile learning at it's best. The photos are attached including the children's voices.

Your feed back or thoughts are welcomed so please feel free to add some comments.

Mid-winter Christmas 2009

In true traditional Learning Curves style the teaching team welcomed friends and family along for a fun way to warm up over winter with mulled wine on offer.
This was an opportunity for us to welcome our new families and reunite with some of our friends that have moved on. It is always a priveledge to spend time with you all and thank you to every one that made it.

The Kandiman Can

At Reece and Nathan's birthday party, the Kandiman, Steve, showed us how to make lollipops. Steve took care of the hot stuff while we were able to shape our own lollipops. This was an unforgettable experience for young and old. Thank you to Reece and Nathan for inviting me to your party.

Classical Painting

The children matched the movements of their bodies with the paint brushes to the tempo of classical music to create classical paintings. When the music was slow, they moved slow and when the music was fast, they went fast.
