Our Philosophy

Wisdom begins with wonder - by Socrates

To cherish the joy of families and the many different ways they come to us.

With Te Whaariki and Kei Tua o te Pae as guidelines, we recognise that each and every child is competent and capable, and we will adapt our pedagogy to support all learning. Theorists of human behaviour, Piaget, Vygotsky and Bronfennrenner, underpin our assessment and evaluation of children's learning.

Our magnificent tall buildings!

Here are a sample of some of the magnificent towers and buildings the children have been building around the centre. There are lots of negotiations taking place as children work together to construct buildings. Problem solving when things don't quite go according to plan, and amazing to watch is the way they turn roads or build around friend's buildings so they don't impact on their friends imaginary personal space. Often they join seperate individual buildings together to make a much larger creation or link buildings with bridges. Since visiting the Sky Tower we have more and more magnificent towers and of course Sky Towers and other buildings being built around the centre. We also have a wall display of more of the childrens magnificent block creations in the block area at the centre.

It was such a glorious day today we took the two and three year olds for a walk to the park. We took along the kite, balls and our picnic lunch. We had an awesome time! Have a look at the story!
